Jessica Hanley's ideal sunday; an interview with Piglet In Bed's CEO
ideally i'd be waking up every sunday...
somewhere remote in the woods. we get to do this quite a lot now we’re living in the midwest of the US, and we’ve explored lots of beautiful spots to really get lost in nature across Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.
i would like to get up...
quite late. right now my husband Patrick and i are living in Illinois, so during the week i wake up horribly early, usually around 3 or 4am so i can maximise my time with my team in the UK. so on the weekends i sleep longer and leave my phone downstairs to give myself a proper break.
while still in bed i would indulge in...
something to calm me down rather than pep me up. i am more likely to have a ginger or chamomile tea in bed than a coffee.
what i miss about sundays in the UK is...
strolling around Portobello and going for long walks in the country which end in a pub roast.
on sundays i choose to wear...
comfy loungewear and wellies! i have no idea what i’ll do when the time comes to start going places where I need to look smart. those clothes seem to have all spontaneously combusted since 2020.
Piglet in Bed does a range of merino wool loungewear
i like to wind down by...
watching countryfile. there are few things that make me happier than curling up on the sofa in my PJs to watch travel shows. i think watching British TV is even more nurturing now i'm far from home. i also love to light a Piglet in Bed candle to really switch my brain into relaxation mode.
i try not to prepare for the following week as the weeks are intense so i try to take sundays to really unwind.
